Mission Statement
The goal of Trinity Church's Mission & Outreach is to proclaim and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by giving of time, talent, and resources to those in need spiritually, physically, and materially. We work to deepen the faith of members of this parish by linking them with local, national, and international opportunities for service and support. We will spread the experience of God's love for every person in this lifetime as we await the coming of our Lord.
"Isaiah 58 Initiatives"
Is not this the fast that I choose
To loose the bonds of injustice,
To undo the thongs of the yoke
To let the oppressed go free,
And to break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
When you see the naked, to cover them,
And not to hide yourself from your own kin?
Then your light shall spring up quickly;
Your vindicator shall go before you,
The glory of the LORD shall be your rearguard.
Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;
You shall cry for help, and he will say, Here I am.
Prophecy of Isaiah 58: 6-9
The Mission and Outreach Committee has been reorganized in 2007, with the goal of expanding committee membership and the number of beneficiaries. There are currently three separate groups; one focusing on Local causes, one on National causes and one on International causes. Each group has its own budget and is responsible for identifying potential recipients of funds and researching them, to ensure that they meet the Mission and Outreach guidelines. In addition each group is encouraged to explore and provide 'hands-on' project opportunities for parish members.
Opportunities
There are many opportunities offering a variety of ways for parishioners to take part in hands-on support including two local meal provision programs, home building, literacy tutoring and ESL tutoring, annual mission trip to Honduras, knitting blankets and shawls; and donation of food and toiletry items.

- Funding may be requested for only one year per application.
- A grant recipient will be required to give written accounting of the use of the grant funds within one year of its receipt of them and to return any unexpended funds to Trinity. This information is used not only for record keeping, but most importantly, to share with Trinity parishioners news about the way their generous giving is being used to reach out to others.

The Outreach Commission funds on-going programs or projects. Funding may be requested for:
- On-going, established initiatives, organizations, programs, or projects.
-

- Funding is granted for one year per application.
- It is possible to receive funding over an unspecified number of consecutive years at the discretion of the sub-committee and executive board.
-
- MISSION & OUTREACH START-UP GRANTS
Mission & Outreach sub-committees will generally seek to fund projects where there is a reasonable chance of their becoming self-supporting in the future (i.e. so that the recipient will not be dependent in the future on support from Mission & Outreach) or where the project will be completed within the year of receiving the M & O grant.
- Funding may be requested for:
- A new initiative/organization/program
- A new project within an existing organization.
- There is no fixed submission deadline in a calendar year. Grant proposals are considered as they are received, on a rolling basis, from January through December. There is approximately a two month wait either to be advised the proposal is not fundable or to receive funds for an approved proposal.
- It is possible to receive funding for a maximum of three years.
