What is Trinity Episcopal Church?

The Mission of Trinity Church
To become a compassionate community of Jesus Christ, where we serve God's people, celebrate God's blessings, and discover a saving balance to the pressures of the world.

Trinity Church, located in the center of the Historic District in Southport, Connecticut, has been the center of worship and Christian community for two hundred and seventy-eight years. Our current building, the sixth in our history, was constructed in 1862. Its simple beauty and majestic spire have provided symbols of God's Spirit in our community to all who have worshipped here.

Trinity is a vibrant and diverse congregation. Our members come from Norwalk, Weston, Wilton, Easton and Stratford, as well as Bridgeport, Westport, and Fairfield. Our child-care facilities during Sunday services are unsurpassed, the church school and music programs for all ages communicate the strong basis of our faith in God. In our worship, through every activity, by our service to the community, and through all that we do, we express our response to all that God has given us -- our stewardship of God's world entrusted to us.

Today, Trinity is growing and active and serves a congregation of more than 400 families. Our numbers of young children, families and individuals increase. And, with this increase, comes our renewed and strengthened commitment to serve all Christ's people throughout the coming days.

You are always welcome at Trinity Church, we are eager for you to invest yourself in your faith journey with us, seeking to be led by God's Holy Spirit, and asking for courage to follow. By God's grace we will all grow in faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.

- Rev. Nicholas Porter, Rector
